I will adapt my approach to what suits you.  For some people, that can be looking at specific models and theories to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and for others it might be visualisation techniques or being creative.  Together, we can explore what feels most comfortable and helpful for you.

Counselling is a commitment

Both of us need to commit to working together, so it is important that you feel comfortable with the relationship.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).  One of the requirements for this membership is that I abide by their Code of Ethics, a copy of which can be found here BACP Ethical Framework

I am also an RNIB accredited sight loss counsellor and have full DBS clearance.

I really hope you decide to contact me

If you do, the first step will be to have a free 50-minute session ideally online or, if not, on the telephone for me to understand what you are looking for in terms of support and whether that is something I can help you with.

It is also your chance to ask me any questions you may have about how I work, address any initial concerns you may have and get a feel for whether you want to progress further.

If you do decide to work with me

you have the choice of either coming to my practice, having online sessions via Zoom or telephone sessions.

Face-to-face

My therapy room has been   created to provide a safe, calming space. There is parking available and the therapy room has a separate entrance to ensure confidentiality.

It is a 20-minute walk from the train station.  The best bus routes are the 2 and 200, which are a 5 minute walk away.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and will generally be either weekly or fortnightly, ideally at the same time each week.
